Taken from a dog shelter​

Kabosu was born in 2005. After the breeder in whose house she lived went bankrupt, the dog ended up with volunteers. She was given the name Kabosu because, presumably, her muzzle resembled a citrus fruit kabosu with a regular round shape.

In the center for stray dogs, a small Kabosu was found by the owner, who began blogging about her pets in 2009. In 2010, Atsuko Sato first posted a cute photo of her dog on the Internet, after which the picture suddenly went viral.
