About how a meme helps other animals​

After some time, Atsuko's friends began to find pictures of the dog on news sites. When she found out about the memes with Kabosu, she was very surprised — «I was horrified at the thought that just one photo that I accidentally took and posted on a blog could spread all over the world».

Atsuko started producing souvenirs with the image of a Dog, but donated money from sales to animal welfare organizations. She decided to do this in the hope that the other dogs being rescued would be as happy as Kabosu. Now this money goes to eight different organizations. In addition, charity events are held every year under the Doge symbol.
